More than 70 people attended the first event, and hundreds more have since walked through the doors of “Coffee Time.” Seasoned entrepreneurs, innovators with new projects, and managers seeking solutions. They all leave with one thing in common: the certainty that financing is not an impregnable fortress, but a path that is built with the right tools and the right guides.
Since its inception, PME ADVICE has consistently emphasized a key message: banking is not an end in itself, but a partner in growth. « Coffee Time is, in fact, the platform that brings together government ministries, the Chamber of Commerce, and all other government agencies, as well as banks, insurance companies, and financial institutions » , as one speaker noted during a recent event. This synergy is now more necessary than ever to address the challenges facing Cameroonian SMEs.
From idea to bankable project: a guided journey
Previous editions have laid the groundwork. We have learned to distinguish between a simple loan application and a genuine bankable project. We explored alternatives to traditional credit, such as leasing and factoring. We came to understand the crucial importance of formalizing business operations, having a deep understanding of our industry, and mastering the fundamentals of management.
« The key factor for SMEs is the market », said one participant. And to win over this market, you need the right tools. Coffee Time has therefore focused on developing the entrepreneurial skills : the leader’s commitment to a long-term perspective, their ability to make decisions, manage human resources, and anticipate risks. These are all qualities that reassure a banker.
